I started my journey with raw foods over 8 years ago (including many periods of yo-yoing between cooked and raw foods). Prior to this I had: post-natal obesity , post-viral fatigue syndrome. , chronic fatigue , depression, mood swings and PMT,  20 years of bulimia , candida , chronic catarrh, painful earaches with regular burst eardrum/ abscesses , liver pain due to gallstones, eczema , acne , bloating and odaema , sugar and salt and dairy addictions. , brain fog and inability to make decisions , insomnia and night anxiety attacks , periodic migraine (which I had suffered with from childhood) and frequent severe headaches. So not too much really.
Like many people embarking on a raw food diet, I have had poor health radically transformed to radiant health in a very short time span. With a raw food lifestyle I managed to lose weight very easily and quickly. Pre-children I was a size 10/12, Post natal I was a UK size 18-20! My poor body was in total shock! I remained obese until I got the hang of raw foods. At first I lost 1 stone (6.35kg) but that took ages and kept going on and off, and I kept going on and off raw foods with long periods of cooked and dairy binges thrown in. Since being totally raw I am 3 stone (20kg) lighter and maintain a healthy (pre-children) size UK 10-12 with no difficulty and a total weight loss of 4 stone! I have better muscle tone than when I was cooked and don't need to exercise as much to maintain weight.
Whilst not totally raw, my children have benefited by getting more enzymes into their diet too.
One son had chronic eczema for 9 years that was totally unpredictable. I noticed that it improved greatly with the introduction of enzyme and probiotic supplements. These were very expensive supplements ( £600 per year!). Simply the introduction of more enzymes and nutrition in the form of regular nut milks, fresh squeezed juices and smoothies has kept him eczema free and improved his concentration and energy levels.
